Privacy policy
Last updated 27 October 2026. Applies to the ChefBot plugin for ChatGPT and to this website, chefbot.neuraltake.com.
1. Who we are
ChefBot is published by NeuralTake, an AI consultancy based in the City of London, United Kingdom ("NeuralTake", "we", "us"). NeuralTake is the data controller for any personal data described in this policy. Contact: info@neuraltake.com. NeuralTake's general privacy policy for its own website is at neuraltake.com/privacy; this policy is the one that applies to ChefBot.
2. The short version
- ChefBot is a set of instructions, reference tables and small scripts that run inside ChatGPT. It has no server, no database and no user accounts.
- NeuralTake does not receive, see, store or process your conversations, your photographs, or anything you type to ChefBot.
- Your conversation with ChefBot is a conversation with ChatGPT and is processed by OpenAI under OpenAI's privacy policy and terms, including any memory, history or training settings in your ChatGPT account.
- This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics. Its web server keeps ordinary access logs for security.
3. Data processed when you use ChefBot in ChatGPT
When you talk to ChefBot, ChatGPT sends your messages, any images you upload and the ChefBot instructions to OpenAI's models and returns the answer to you. All of that happens on OpenAI's systems. ChefBot's instructions tell the model not to claim persistent memory and not to ask for more personal information than the cooking task needs. Where a conversation offers a Python tool, the model may run ChefBot's scripts (for scaling, shopping lists and schedules) inside that tool; those scripts process only the recipe text given to them and send nothing anywhere.
Because ChefBot has no backend, NeuralTake cannot access your conversations, and OpenAI does not share them with us. OpenAI may make aggregate, non-identifying usage statistics about the plugin available to us in its developer dashboard (for example, how many conversations used it). Any written feedback you choose to send through ChatGPT's own feedback features is forwarded to us by OpenAI in the form OpenAI chooses; we use it only to improve ChefBot.
4. Sensitive information you may mention
You may choose to tell ChefBot about allergies, intolerances, medical diets, pregnancy or religious food rules so that it can adapt a recipe. That information is health or belief data and is processed by OpenAI as part of your conversation, under OpenAI's policies. NeuralTake never receives it. ChefBot is designed to ask only for what the recipe needs and to apply, not diagnose or prescribe, dietary requirements. Please share only what you are comfortable sharing with ChatGPT.
5. Data processed by this website
| Data | Purpose | Legal basis | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| Web server access logs: IP address, time, page requested, browser user agent, referrer | Security, abuse prevention, keeping the site working | Legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) | Up to 30 days, then deleted |
| Emails you send to our support address: your address, name if given, and the content | Answering your question, fixing problems | Legitimate interests; performance of a contract where the terms apply | Up to 24 months after the last message, then deleted unless needed for a legal claim |
The site sets no cookies, loads no third-party scripts, fonts or trackers, and runs no analytics. It is hosted on a server in the European Union operated for NeuralTake.
6. Sharing
We do not sell personal data and do not share it for marketing. Support emails are stored with our email provider under a data-processing agreement. We may disclose data where the law requires it.
7. International transfers
Conversation data is handled by OpenAI according to its own policies, which describe its transfers. Website logs and support email are processed in the United Kingdom and the European Union.
8. Your rights
Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 (and the EU GDPR where it applies) you may ask us for access to, correction or erasure of personal data we hold, object to or restrict processing, and complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or your local supervisory authority. Because we hold no conversation data, requests about conversations should be made to OpenAI through ChatGPT's data controls. For anything we do hold (support emails, logs), write to info@neuraltake.com; we respond within one month.
9. Children
ChatGPT requires users to be at least 13 (or the minimum age in their country) and under-18s to have parental consent. ChefBot is suitable for general audiences and does not target children. We do not knowingly collect data from children; we hold no conversation data in any case.
10. Changes
We will post any change to this policy on this page with a new date. If ChefBot ever gains features that process data outside ChatGPT (for example saved recipes), we will update this policy and the plugin listing before those features are released.
